An inspiring leader, Steve has won praise for driving progress both across Smithfield and among its communities. He has led efforts to empower minority farmers in the supply chain and overseen millions of dollars’ worth of grants to projects including providing rural internet access for underserved communities and empowering young minority women in science, technology, engeineering, mathematics (STEM), business and entrepreneurship. Steve’s advocacy has also been critical in driving forward the company’s environmental efforts as it strives to become carbon negative in its own operations by 2030.
