Communications Campaign Award

Winner: Eastman

Entry Overview

Eastman has been a day-one partner of the University of Tennessee’s (UT) Good Sports Always Give Back programme, helping bring recycling to the university’s campus. In 2022, Eastman and UT challenged fans of American football to set a recycling world record during a high-profile home game. With 17,441kg (38,452.2lbs) of waste reused or recycled, we set the record for the world’s largest college recycling event.

In 2023, Eastman and UT set out to beat the previous record and challenged the University of Michigan to go head-to-head for game-day recycling. On 23 September 2023, during home games at both stadiums, all plastic, aluminium, paper, cardboard, wooden pallet and food waste that was recycled or composted on campus and in stadiums counted towards setting a new world record for the world’s largest college recycling event.
